Heed Introduces Anais Aida

There is a story behind every musician, and Anais Aida is certainly no exception.  I fell in love with the achingly soulful “Love Can Burn”, but I didn’t know the experiences that birthed her musical revelation until I talked to her in New York.  Over tea and croissants, Anais shared her 21 year journey spanning three continents and four countries.  The French-Senegalese artist used the language of music to express the challenges of being a world traveler searching for a home.  Fortunately, Anais has finally found it.  She honed her sound at NYU working with producers like Alejandro Ghersi and even has Janelle Monae singing her praises.  At the end of our interview, I felt so inspired by the fearless transparency of Anais’ life and art.  Bandpage  Facebook  Twitter  Bandcamp

Home is a place that Anais Aida finds within. The unifying thread woven within her childhood in France, Ireland, Senegal, and the Bay area led to an understanding of humanity that defies geographic boundaries. Anais channeled her journey into songs that uncover the emotions of us all. With the help of one of her producers, Alejandro Ghersi, Anais crafted a sound that is edgy, minimalist, and soulful.  Her courses at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recording Music created the platform that brought her music to the masses. What started as a class project turned into an eye opening email. It was Janelle Monae applauding Anais for staying true to the essence of “Say You’ll Go”. Anais’ stripped down acoustic cover marked the beginning of a career soaring to its zenith.  Pick Up Heed At Barnes & Noble  Buy Online
