Green Tea Can ‘Never Be The Blame’

You know a song is good when you want to raise an amen hand as soon as you press play.  Green Tea continues her soulful throwback appeal with a new video for “Never Be The Blame” off her Dosage III: Time to B.E. album.  It is pure vocal perfection wrapped up in 90’s Hip Hop soul.  Green Tea’s wispy background harmonies effortlessly glides over the head nodding track.  I would have been completely satisfied with Green Tea’s vocals alone, but the rugged voices of Hip Hop trio Gods’Illa takes the song to another level.  Now visually, the video doesn’t progress as fast as I would like, but I enjoy the resolve to Green Tea’s concert performance.  I’m so glad that Green Tea pushed beyond her fears so the world can witness her amazing talent.  Twitter  Website

Green Tea Still Stands After The Laughter

Green Tea is a soul lover’s dream.  She has the tight harmonies of a 90’s R&B girl group and the uplifting lyrics of an intimate coffeehouse singer.  Green Tea is a D.C native whose Dosage album series (Shades Of Green, Choices) is being expanded by her third upcoming installment, The Time To B.E.  With her latest single After The Laughter, I have a feeling that Green Tea will be reaching a new level of creativity.  Green Tea adds more influences into her musical palette in early R&B and Hip Hop.  Dirty breakbeats and classic samples blend effortlessly while Green Tea explains how she survived the pain.  Coming in at the bridge, Oddisee turns After The Laughter into a straight ahead Hip Hop jam with his gritty voice and laid back flow.  It is amazing that a song so defiant still has sensitivity.  Green Tea’s smooth and nimble vocals express life’s hurts as well as the determination to persevere.  Website  Twitter
