The South Central raised, Arizona based artist grew up on the Afrocentric principles of his Nation of Islam father. Kaliq poured his childhood lessons in the socially conscious mixtape, Pharoah Music. While most rappers have one watered down “Fight The Power” song at best, Kaliq’s mixtape is CNN for the streets. His latest video, “Fighting” reveals the irony of fighting in vain. His compassionate lyrics brings to light the very real issues of EBT drama, prescription drug addition, and even terrorism.
